Workflow handles thë routing of work between resources.  The resources can be people,  systems or machines.

Organizations go through different life-cycles just like people do.  For example,  people go through infancy,  child-hood and early-teenage phases that are characterized by lots of rapid growth.  People in these phases often do whatever IT¹ takes just to stay alive,  for example,  eating,  seeking shelter and sleeping.  Often,  these people tend to make impulsive,  highly reactive decisions based on whatever is going on around them at the moment.  Start-up organizations are like this,  too.  Often,  founders of the organization or program and its various members have to do whatever is necessary just to stay in business.

RFID tags can be read as long as they are within range of a reader.  Bar codes have other shortcomings as well.  If a label is ripped,  soiled or falls off,  there is no way to scan the item.  And standard bar codes identify only the manufacturer and product,  not the unique item.  The bar code on one milk carton is the same as every other,  making IT¹ impossible to identify which one might pass its expiration date first.

Supply chain collaboration can produce dramatic improvements in operational and financial performance.  But there is no silver bullet to achieving real collaboration and the associated benefits.  IT¹ requires hard work and some radical changes in thinking and behavior.  IT¹ demands business-process integration and Customer focus as well as a mindset that views supply chain relationships as strategic differentiators.

Last but not least are the benefits to Management.  Because residing VEs are components of the host,  changes to the host can be automatically and immediately manifested into each residing VE.  One example of this has to do with the monthly Windows patching process.  With virtual machines,  the patching process treats each virtual machine like a physical machine,  updating each independently of each other.  Using VEs,  once the host has been patched,  those updates are immediately seen within each VE.  Thus,  the number of administration touch points is significantly reduced.  

Once you have defined the Project Management,  you can plan to deliver the required solution.  Obviously,  if you can meet all the Needs and the majority of the Wants,  IT¹ is going to be seen as a resounding success.  However,  if all you can do is meet all the Needs and a few of the Wants,  IT¹ can still be viewed as successful.

Now and mainly in the future,  the current [DAS] Systems of Information will be used less and less; today they are just used as tools to aid the man,  as the computation was always in the past.

Supervisors have conducted performance appraisals for years.  Employees have attended training sessions for years.  Organization members have worked long,  hard hours for centuries.  Processes,  such as planning,  budgeting,  sales and billings have been carried out for years in organizations.

The tough economic climate drives businesses to seek rapid ROI on all Information Technology [IT¹] investments - old and new.  The CEO,  CFO and the entire board need to see that Information Technology [IT¹] is linking successfully with the overall business strategy of the organisation,  and IT¹ is up to the Chief Information Officer [CIO¹] to demonstrate this.

Measures of efficiency reflect how well such resources as inventory,  capacity,  and capital are utilized in supply chain operations.  In the case of inventory,  the classic turnover ratio is gradually being displaced by days-on-hand,  which expresses the same information in a more useful form in today's high-throughput environments.  

The Director/Manager with a MBA,  first,  ask yourself what is an Aground Product.  The more he thinks on this subject,  more he identifies the need of an Aground mathematical model,  so that the Department of Information can generate lists [electronics,  and not printed] of the Aground Products.  Although IT¹ doesn't seem,  that mathematical model is complex,  a enterprise of medium size took 60 days to define IT¹.

Passive tags are cheaper than active tags [20 to 40 cents versus $10 and up] and require no maintenance,  which is why retailers and manufacturers are looking to use passive tags in their supply chains.  

Some stress is both normal and beneficial because IT¹ enables a person to seek answers to problems,  redirect thinking,  develop inner autonomy and assertiveness,  and face the demands of reality with an open,  flexible,  positive attitude.  Stress is the jump-start for many projects.

In addition,  an assessment fully evaluates new security threats and Management challenges,  as IT¹ staff work to prevent eavesdropping,  control the number and type of devices using the network and guard against unauthorized usage of the network.
